Jen & Charlie | A Michigan Summer Backyard Wedding

Jen and Charlie’s backyard wedding was just so darn delightful. The coming together of two families was so apparent against the beautiful backdrop of the home that Charlie has spent so much time and energy working on. I wish everyone’s wedding day could be so relaxed, so focused on enjoying the time and the people.

I have so many highlights it’s hard to narrow them down for sharing but to name just a few: Jen’s six-year-old boy and just about everything he did that I found entertaining (especially his drumming later in the evening), the completely laid back nature of everyone in attendance, Charlie’s kids carrying the chuppah, the intimate ceremony so closely surrounded by family, friends and their dog, the delicious food and, dare I say, the very best moment of the day when Jen arranged for the very first voicemail she ever received from Charlie asking her on a date to be played on the speakers…three times in a row…as a surprise to him and all the guests. What a totally endearing moment.
