Holly & Nathan – Wedding: Longacre House, Farmington Hills

Over a cup of hot Chinese Flower tea at Biggby, which Holly said reminded her of Fruit Loops, I learned how much she likes dinosaurs. She likes them so much that when Nathan wrapped a bunch of little gifts for her at Christmastime she was so thrilled one of them was a toy dinosaur that she didn’t even notice there was an engagement ring in its hand. Or is it a claw? But, once she realized what was happening, I’m pretty sure she put that dinosaur down and was even happier about what that ring meant. So, on a drizzly Saturday in September, with all of their family and friends, Holly and Nathan celebrated their new life together…with dinosaurs.

Here’s the beautiful dress Holly wore, hanging in a beautiful window at Longacre House in Farmington Hills.

And when Nathan came to see Holly for their first look, they became even more radiant together…

I love this image of Holly and Nathan peeking out the windows to watch their guests arriving; what a great moment.

I also love super relaxed bridal party photographs. :D

While I know it was a bummer that the ceremony had to be moved inside because of the rain, Holly and Nathan were troupers to head outside with me for a bit after the ceremony and I LOVE these images with their fun umbrella!

And….drumroll please…a dinosaur and superhero cake topper! I love when couples personalize their wedding day somehow and the details Holly and Nathan brought into their day were perfect fits for their lighthearted personalities.

Speaking of their awesome details, this idea is something I fell in love with and, when I got home, I told Eric I’d like to get married again just so we can do this. With the help of Holly’s sister and maid of honor, Kristen, who is a great designer, they placed this gorgeous “friends and family tree” out for each of their guests to place a fingerprint upon. Genius!

Holly and Nathan: Thank you for the great honor of allowing me to be there to capture your wedding day. I knew I was in for a treat when I received the invitation in the mail and it said, “it’s going to be dinomite”! It was so great learning more about your story and meeting your wonderful family. Your day truly was a celebration of your lives that was so reflective of your hearts. Thank you for letting me be a small part of that. I wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and fun and may your photographs always remind you how you felt on that day.

XO,

nicole
